Egghead & Twinkie

Egghead & Twinkie is a feature-length film written and directed by graduate student, Sarah Kambe Holland. As the photographer, videographer, and social media manager, I utilized content strategy and digital media to help amass 250,000+ followers, 2.7+ million likes, and $22,000 of crowdfunding donations within the first year.

"I was fortunate to work with Heaven on the marketing for my debut feature film, Egghead & Twinkie. Considering the film was a low-budget indie effort, developing a strong social media presence was crucial to building a loyal and supportive audience.

Over time, the scope of work expanded to include TikTok and YouTube as well, with the addition of a co-social media manager. Heaven lead our social media efforts and delegated tasks to other members of the marketing team, including designers, videographers, and editors. She was particularly instrumental in perfecting a system of organization in the Google suite that would keep us on track.

Since I had previously been running the film’s social media on my own, it was a huge help (and honestly, a relief) to collaborate with Heaven and pass my vision for our social media on to her. As a filmmaker herself, Heaven also has a keen eye for visuals and style. With the help of our graphic designers, she pitched the idea of alternating graphics and photos on our Instagram page to maintain a cohesive aesthetic. She also shot behind-the-scenes photos and videos for us that beautifully captured the atmosphere on set. Heaven left her mark on our little film, thanks to her creativity and commitment to go the extra mile. I hope to have the opportunity to work with her again!"

Social Media Content

These playful, doodle-style graphics included film festival award updates, behind-the-scenes moments, and teaser promotions. They were optimized for both Instagram and Facebook, ensuring they resonated with each platform's audience while maintaining a cohesive brand aesthetic.

Movie Poster Photography

The film poster needed to capture attention while conveying the genre, mood, and story, offering a glimpse into the film’s essence. In a crowded market, an eye-catching poster can determine whether the film stands out or gets overlooked. Serving as a key marketing asset, the poster was designed to be a powerful tool for promotion. Shot in collaboration with the director and lead talent, it focused on location, set design, dynamic angles, emotive expressions, and vibrant colors to highlight the narrative's core elements.

TikTok / Instagram Reels Filming & Editing

TikTok and Instagram Reels were crucial to the film's online virality. By tapping into trends, sharing behind-the-scenes moments, and using creative storytelling, the campaign gained over 250,000 followers, 2.7 million likes, and $22,000 in crowdfunding within the first year, helping drive the film through production and post-production. Each video was carefully filmed and edited with attention to pacing, music, and visuals, maximizing shareability and fueling the film’s online momentum. Shot on iPhone and edited with Adobe Premiere Pro.

Behind the Scenes Videography

Fans craved an inside look into production, eager to join the journey and grow more excited about the film as it developed. Behind-the-scenes videos were crafted to offer exclusive glimpses into the making of the film, building anticipation and deepening the connection with the audience. These videos helped maintain excitement throughout the production process, keeping fans engaged and invested. Shot with Panasonic Lumix GH5 and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Unit Stills Photography

Unit stills served as powerful storytelling tools that captured the essence of production and the film. These images were made not only to engage fans and fuel online marketing but also to elevate media kits and festival submissions, giving the film a professional edge. Each shot was designed to highlight crew members, key moments, characters, and emotions, creating a visual narrative that amplifies the film’s presence across platforms and in industry circles. Shot with Canon and edited in Adobe Lightroom.

Decal & Prop Photography

Photography was captured for decals and props featured in the film, creating the visual elements that would come to life on screen. These images were meticulously shot to ensure each prop and decal seamlessly fit within the movie’s world, adding depth and authenticity to the setting. The final images were used both on-screen and for marketing materials, providing fans with a unique, tangible connection to the film’s aesthetic. Shot with Sony
